Cardr Privacy Policy

Cardr is a business card scanner that runs entirely on your iPhone. We built Cardr so your data never has to leave your device. Cardr does not collect, store, transmit, or sell your personal information. There are no accounts, no servers, and no third-party tracking.

1. Information we collect

None. Cardr has no servers and no account system. We cannot see your cards, contacts, photos, or how you use the app.

2. On-device processing

When you scan a business card, the photo is processed entirely on your device using Apple's on-device Vision and Foundation Models (Apple Intelligence). The image and the extracted text are never uploaded to us or to any third party.

3. Camera

Cardr uses the camera only to capture an image of a business card. Images are processed on-device and are not stored by Cardr unless you choose to save a result. Camera images are never transmitted anywhere.

4. Contacts

Cardr requests Contacts permission only to save a scanned business card as a new contact in your device's address book, and only after you confirm. Cardr does not access your existing contacts for any other purpose, and does not read, upload, share, or sell them.

5. Scan history

Any history of your scans is stored locally on your device only. It is never synced to a server. You can delete individual entries or clear the history at any time; deleting the app removes it.

6. Purchases

Cardr offers optional one-time in-app purchases processed by Apple through the App Store. Apple handles all payment information; Cardr never receives or stores your payment details. Apple's handling of purchase data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

7. Analytics and tracking

None. Cardr contains no analytics SDKs, advertising, or tracking technologies. We do not use cookies, device identifiers, or any third-party services that collect data.

Because Cardr collects no data, there is nothing to share or sell. We do not share information with any third party.

9. Children's privacy

Cardr is not directed at children under 13 and collects no personal information from anyone, including children.

10. Data retention and your control

All data created in Cardr (saved contacts and local history) stays on your device under your control. Uninstalling the app removes any data it stored locally. Because we hold no data about you, there is nothing for us to retain, export, or delete on our side.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Effective date" above and posted at this URL.
